Assistant Professor from Sona Devi University Honoured with Global Achievement Award 2025

Rahul Kumar Shaw, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy, Sona Devi University, has been honoured with the prestigious Global Achievement Award 2025 for his outstanding contribution to pharmaceutical research. The award was conferred by Rifacimento International in recognition of his research work titled “Formulation, Characterization, and In-Vitro Evaluation of Metformin Floating Tablets for Prolonged Gastric Residence.”


The awarded research focuses on the development of gastro-retentive floating drug delivery systems of Metformin, aimed at enhancing gastric residence time and improving therapeutic efficacy in the management of diabetes mellitus. The study emphasizes advanced formulation techniques, detailed physicochemical characterization, and in-vitro evaluation, highlighting its significance in modern pharmaceutical dosage form design.

Mr. Rahul is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the SDU School of Pharmacy at Sona Devi University, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic development. His work has contributed to the advancement of controlled drug delivery systems and reflects a strong commitment towards innovation and excellence in pharmaceutical sciences.
