International Yoga Day
Sona Devi University organizes several sports and wellness events annually to foster community involvement, healthy competition, and overall well-being.
- Pharmacy Day Sports Competition (September 21, 2024)
A friendly competition for B. Pharm and D. Pharm students, featuring chess and carrom competitions.

A special yoga session conducted by Gayatri Family, Haridwar, promoting mental and physical wellness for students and staff.
- Annual Sports Festival (December 10-12, 2024)
A three-day festival featuring events like 200-meter races, shotput, discus throw, kabaddi, and badminton, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for athletic events.

- National Celebrations – Parade and Pyramid Programs
On Republic Day (January 26)Â and Independence Day (August 15), SDU hosts parades and pyramid performances to celebrate national pride and unity.
- International Yoga Day (June 21, 2025)
To mark International Yoga Day, a yoga session will be held with active participation from students and faculty. The event will be recognized by the Ministry of Ayush, and the university will be awarded the Yoga Sangam Patra Certificate.

Mrs. Komal Kumari
B.P.Ed Certified
Trained at Yoga Mitron Mandal, Munger
A dedicated practitioner of yoga and sports, Mrs. Kumari is a B.P.Ed graduate trained at Yoga Mitron Mandal, Munger. She actively participates in various sports and gaming competitions, contributing significantly to fitness and sports culture at SDU.
- Coordinating sports events, yoga sessions, and wellness programs across campus
- Managing sports infrastructure and ensuring all resources are accessible
- Organizing training programs and coaching students to improve fitness levels
- Promoting mental and physical health awareness through campus activities
Mrs. Komal Kumari is the Sports and Yoga Incharge at Sona Devi University. With a lifelong passion for yoga and sports, Mrs. Kumari has been trained at the Yoga Mitron Mandal in Munger from 2007 to 2012. She pursued BPED studies, actively participating in various sports and gaining comprehensive knowledge in fitness and sports activities.
Her responsibilities include:
- Coordinating sports events, yoga sessions, and wellness programs.
- Managing sports infrastructure, ensuring that all resources are available and accessible.
- Organizing training programs and workshops to improve students’ fitness levels.
- Promoting the importance of mental and physical health through workshops and communications.
Mrs. Kumari’s leadership ensures that all sports and wellness activities are executed effectively, encouraging the university community to engage in a healthy lifestyle.
