Grand Cultural Programme Organized by the Department of Pharmacy at Sona Devi University, Ghatsila on the Occasion of Republic Day

Theme of the Programme: “Pharmacist as a Pillar of Republic”

On the auspicious occasion of the Republic Day of India, the Department of Pharmacy at Sona Devi University, Ghatsila (Jharkhand) successfully organized a grand, inspiring, and patriotic cultural programme. The theme of the programme, “Pharmacist as a Pillar of Republic,” aimed to highlight the role of pharmacists in nation-building, their social responsibilities, and their commitment towards the Constitution.

The programme commenced with a pledge to imbibe the spirit of the Constitution, patriotism, and democratic values. The event was efficiently anchored by Sandeep Kumar and Megha Das, who presented the entire programme in a disciplined, lively, and impactful manner.

During the programme, student Kritika Balmiki expressed her thoughts on the historical significance of Republic Day, the dignity of the Constitution, and the role of youth in nation-building. This was followed by a patriotic dance performance by Mausami Kumari, which deeply moved the audience.

Baleshwari Mandi delivered a powerful recitation of her poem titled “Republic Day,” vividly portraying freedom, the Constitution, and the spirit of democracy through words. Meanwhile, Sharda Rani presented an emotional slow dance on a patriotic song, artistically expressing devotion and respect for the nation.

In the intellectual session, student Deepa Kumari shared her views on the Constitution, civic duties, and the role of youth in nation-building. Subsequently, Megha Das, Sharda Rani, and Neha Thakur presented a patriotic skit that conveyed a strong message of social unity, discipline, and patriotism.

Adding to the cultural sequence, Riya and group performed a patriotic song that filled the atmosphere with national pride. This was followed by an energetic group dance performance by the students of Bachelor of Pharmacy, Fourth Semester, which received wide appreciation from the audience.

On this occasion, Assistant Registrar Mrs. Archana Singh, in her address, stated that such cultural and academic programmes play a vital role in the holistic development of students and help inculcate patriotism, social responsibility, and moral values among them.

Registrar Dr. Nit Nayana remarked that the university’s objective is not only to provide quality education but also to nurture respect for the Constitution, democratic consciousness, and social commitment among students.

Presiding over the programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Braj Mohan Pat Pingua emphasized that Republic Day reminds us of the strength of the Constitution, the dignity of democracy, and the importance of civic duties. He urged students to actively contribute to nation-building through their knowledge, skills, and ethical values.

The Chief Guest, Honorable Chancellor Shri Prabhakar Singh, in his address, stated that every student must faithfully perform fundamental duties along with enjoying fundamental rights. He highlighted that by following the ideals and principles of great revolutionaries and patriots, a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant nation can be built. He also stressed the importance of cultural and moral education along with academic knowledge to establish a clean society, a strong state, and a prosperous nation.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem. On this occasion, faculty members, officers, staff, and a large number of students of the university were present.
