On the occasion of the death anniversary of Late Sona Devi Ji, a dignified and emotionally resonant tribute ceremony was organized at the campus of Sona Devi University, Ghatsila. The event was attended by university officials, Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students, all of whom paid their respectful homage to Late Sona Devi Ji with deep reverence.
The entire life of Late Sona Devi Ji was an exemplary embodiment of simplicity, service, sacrifice, and dedication. Her deep faith in education, social consciousness, and visionary outlook paved the way for the establishment of Sona Devi University. The university is not merely an academic institution, but a living symbol of her values, ideals, and sense of social responsibility, continuously moving forward to realize her dreams.
The program was conducted by Assistant Registrar Mrs. Archana Singh. In her address, she highlighted the life of Late Sona Devi Ji and said that her personality was filled with simplicity, compassion, and a spirit of service. She regarded education as the most powerful instrument of social transformation and, with this belief, envisioned laying a strong educational foundation for future generations—a vision that the university is fulfilling today.
On this occasion, Registrar Dr. Nit Nayana stated that the university administration is working with complete dedication towards administrative transparency, quality and inclusive education, and the holistic development of students. She emphasized her continued commitment to working with consistency, discipline, and dedication to establish the university as a nationally recognized institution and to ensure a bright and empowered future for students.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Braj Mohan Pat Pingua, in his address, said that Sona Devi University is fully committed to translating the educational philosophy of Late Sona Devi Ji into practice. He emphasized that education is not merely a means to obtain degrees, but the foundation for character building, social responsibility, ethics, and the development of human values. The ideals of Late Sona Devi Ji continue to guide every academic and administrative activity of the university.
Honorable Chancellor Mr. Prabhakar Singh, in his message, said that on this pious occasion, everyone should take a pledge to follow the path shown by Late Sona Devi Ji and actively contribute to the building of society and the nation through education. He added that collective support, trust, and positive participation would help the university achieve a distinct identity at the national level, which would be the truest and most lasting tribute to her.
At the conclusion of the program, all present paid their respectful homage to Late Sona Devi Ji and pledged to keep her sacred memories alive in their hearts forever. Finally, Assistant Registrar Mrs. Archana Singh announced the conclusion of the program and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests, speakers, and attendees.
