Today, National Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great zeal at Sona Devi University. The program, held in the Vivekananda Auditorium of the university, began with the garlanding of the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. On this occasion, Chancellor Shri Prabhakar Singh said that the purpose of organizing this event on the birth anniversary of renowned educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is to remind people that in the age of artificial intelligence, society is drifting away from its culture. Teachers alone can recognize such issues. Referring to sages like Maharshi Valmiki and Guru Dronacharya, he said that teachers have been revered since ancient times.

He further emphasized that the dignity of Sona Devi University lies in its professors. No school, college, or university can move forward without respecting its teachers. The responsibility of guiding future generations rests solely on teachers. He also said that the Sona Devi Educational Foundation Trust has been working for the last 30 years to provide quality education. Shri Singh stressed that where there are challenges, there are also opportunities, and that teachers must focus on the moral development of students along with imparting knowledge. Apart from teaching, teachers should also actively participate in various other activities.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra encouraged all the professors and students by saying that to move forward, one must follow the path of good people. In today’s changing society, teachers too must adapt with time. A teacher must truly become a teacher, only then will they be respected. Teachers should prepare themselves according to circumstances, and students must work hard, develop their thinking, and contribute positively. Only then will they be able to ensure their own progress as well as that of the nation. Dr. Mishra added that by learning from the philosophies of great personalities, success is inevitable.

The program began with an address by Registrar Prof. Dr. Gulab Singh Azad, who said that Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is remembered as a great philosopher, teacher, thinker, and intellectual. This day inspires us, as teachers, to help students overcome their shortcomings and guide them to become good human beings. He familiarized the students with the life and work of Dr. Radhakrishnan. In his speech, Dr. Azad stated that the true significance of celebrating Teachers’ Day lies in assimilating the philosophy and teachings of such great personalities. He urged students to focus on their studies and use education for the welfare of society. Quoting Dr. Radhakrishnan, he emphasized creativity, independent thinking, and the importance of moral values in students. He also highlighted fourteen essential qualities of a good student.

On the same day, the Freshers’ Week “Aagaz 3” at Sona Devi University concluded successfully.
