Saraswati Puja Concluded at Sona Devi University, Ghatsila with the Confluence of Faith, Culture, and Knowledge

At the serene and sacred campus of Sona Devi University, Ghatsila, the worship of Goddess Saraswati—the presiding deity of knowledge, wisdom, intellect, and the arts—was performed in a grand manner with full rituals, Vedic chants, and deep reverence. On this auspicious occasion, the entire university campus was imbued with spiritual consciousness, cultural dignity, and academic enthusiasm.

The worship ceremony was led by Dr. Sivchandra Jha, Head of the Department of Political Science. Expressing his thoughts after the पूजा, Dr. Jha stated, “Goddess Saraswati is not merely a symbol of learning, but the embodiment of wisdom, values, and creative consciousness. The true purpose of education is to empower individuals morally, intellectually, and socially. Saraswati Puja inspires us toward continuous learning, self-discipline, and responsibility toward the nation.”

Addressing the gathering, the University Registrar, Dr. Nit Nayana, remarked, “The celebration of Saraswati Puja in educational institutions strengthens our cultural roots. This festival encourages students to remain devoted to the pursuit of knowledge, develop a positive outlook, and maintain academic discipline. Sona Devi University remains continuously committed to holistic development through the integration of education and culture.”

In his message, the Honorable Chancellor of the University, Shri Prabhakar Singh, said, “Knowledge is the true strength of any society and nation. The worship of Goddess Saraswati not only guides us toward intellectual progress but also reinforces moral values, rational conduct, and a sense of social responsibility. Sona Devi University is steadfastly advancing toward the creation of a value-based society along with providing quality education.”

On this occasion, all Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students were present. Together, they offered collective prayers to Goddess Saraswati, wishing for the continued progress of the university, academic excellence, and a bright future for the students.

Throughout the event, special emphasis was placed on discipline, harmony, and cultural decorum. After the पूजा, prasad was distributed, further strengthening the spirit of mutual goodwill, unity, and harmony within the university family.

This celebration of Saraswati Puja not only stood as a symbol of religious faith but also emerged as a powerful medium for the promotion of knowledge, culture, and moral values within the university.
