- A tribute program was organized at the SDU School of Pharmacy, Sona Devi University, on the birth anniversary of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff , who is regarded as the Father of Pharmacy Education in India.
- The institute’s Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shandilya, highlighted the life, academic contributions, and the significant role of M. L. Schroff in the development of pharmacy education in India.
- Head of the Department, Mr. Rahul Kumar Shaw, described his ideals as a source of inspiration for students and emphasized the responsibility of carrying forward the educational values he established.
A tribute program was organized on 6 March 2026 at the SDU School of Pharmacy, Sona Devi University, Ghatsila, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff, widely recognized as the Father of Pharmacy Education in India. On this occasion, the institute’s Principal, Mr. Sudhanshu Shandilya, led the program and shed light on the life of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff, his academic contributions, and his pivotal role in the growth and development of pharmacy education in India.
Mr. Rahul Kumar Shaw, Head of the Department, described his ideals as a great source of inspiration for students and stated that it is the responsibility of all educators and learners to uphold and promote the academic values established by him.
During the program, Mr. Kishore Kumar Mahakur and Ms. Uma Mahto shared their views on the work and historical contributions of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff to pharmacy education and encouraged students to pursue research and quality-based education. Mr. Harsha Verma and Ms. Safinaz Taiyba also addressed the students, motivating them to follow his ideals and work in the field of pharmacy with ethics, dedication, and a spirit of service.
The organization and arrangements of the program were supported by Mr. Pratik Tiwari (Lab Assistant), who played an important role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
At the conclusion of the program, all faculty members and staff present paid floral tribute to the portrait of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff and pledged to follow his ideals. The program served as an inspiring occasion for the institute to remember the history of pharmacy education and honour one of its most significant contributors.
