Service to Humanity Reflected Through Eye Care Camp Organized in Memory of Late Sona Devi

Jamshedpur, January 26:
Serving one’s parents is the greatest form of service, and seeing the same spirit reflected in serving others is what this eye care camp truly represents. Even after the demise of his mother, Prabhakar Singh has remained devoted to serving people who embody the parental spirit. Such service is always blessed by God and earns the goodwill of those who benefit from it.

These views were expressed by popular public representative and MLA from Jamshedpur West, Mr. Saryu Rai, during the valedictory and farewell ceremony of the eye care camp organized jointly by the Sona Devi Memorial Educational Foundation Trust and Sona Devi University in memory of Late Sona Devi.

Mr. Rai stated that the ideals promoted by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan are vividly reflected in the work of the Ram Manohar Lohia Seva Sansthan, where services are rendered to the most backward and economically weaker sections of society.

On the occasion, Mr. Rai, along with camp coordinator Prabhakar Singh, social worker Bobby Singh, Honorary Secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum Vijay Kumar Singh, Dr. B. P. Singh, and other dignitaries, distributed spectacles and medicines to the eye patients. Each patient was also presented with a blanket and a refreshment packet as a token of care.

Earlier, ophthalmologist Dr. B. P. Singh and his supporting medical team removed eye bandages and conducted final check-ups of 36 patients who had undergone eye surgeries. Following this, volunteer Shyam Kumar provided detailed guidance to the patients on post-operative eye care.

To commemorate the event, Prabhakar Singh, Chancellor of Sona Devi University, presented a memento of the university to Mr. Saryu Rai, while Dr. B. P. Singh honored him by draping a shawl.

The program was attended by senior members of the Indian Red Cross Society, East Singhbhum, including Chandramohan Singh, Rakesh Mishra, Prabhunath Singh, Ashok Singh, Ashok Kumar Ghoshal, along with volunteers Shyam Kumar, Prakash Mishra, Raju Bind, Sunil Kumar Singh, and Prakashbhanu Mahato.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Prabhakar Singh, who wished all patients a speedy recovery and formally concluded the program.
