Students from Sona Devi University, who showcased remarkable success at the Technica 5 technical fest organized by the Department of Engineering and IT of Arka Jain University, Jamshedpur, were honored for their achievements.
In this technical fest, the students from the School of Electrical Engineering of Sona Devi University secured the first position. During the felicitation ceremony held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of Sona Devi University, Registrar Dr. Gulab Singh Azad praised the faculty and students for their remarkable accomplishments. He mentioned that during the competition held on November 7 and 8, 2025, participants were given the opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity through model exhibitions and robotics competitions.
Nearly 3,000 participants from three states took part in this fest, where the School of Electrical Engineering team from Sona Devi University delivered an exceptional performance and secured first place. Participants from Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha presented their innovative models during the event.
The fest was inaugurated by Captain Amitabh Deep, Head of Tata Steel Foundation. The panel of judges, comprising experts from reputed technical institutions of the state, selected the best models for recognition.
Registrar Dr. Gulab Singh Azad stated that students from the Diploma Third Semester developed a metal-detecting robot, which earned them this remarkable achievement — a matter of pride for the university. He congratulated Aman Ravidas, Shubhodeep Roy, Gautam Kumar Mahali, and Swarnendu Kulia, along with their department head Pooja Tiwari, for this outstanding success.
The Sona Devi University team also secured first place in solo and group dance competitions, winning medals for their performances. Aman Ravidas and Rashmi Karmakar were specially congratulated for their hard work and talent.
Additionally, B.Tech Third Semester students from the university displayed their creativity by presenting a model that demonstrated electricity generation from waste materials.
