On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, the faculty members of Sona Devi University, Ghatsila performed yoga from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The session was organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the National Service Scheme (NSS). Sona Devi University recently received approval to initiate an NSS unit, and this celebration marks a proud moment in that journey.
Over 10,000 locations across India joined the yoga celebrations today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the session from Visakhapatnam. Thanks to the efforts of the Government of India, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, now being celebrated for the 11th time.
Komal Sinha, Yoga Instructor at the university, shared that regular yoga practice supports focus, mental clarity, stress reduction, and better physical and mental health. It also boosts immunity—making it especially important for students to adopt yoga into their daily routine.
