Ghatsila, December 10, 2024: The three-day Annual Sports Competition at Sona Devi University, Kitadih, Ghatsila, commenced with a grand opening ceremony on Tuesday. The event was inaugurated by the University Chancellor, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, and the Registrar, Dr. Gulab Singh Azad, by jointly cutting the ribbon at the university’s sprawling sports ground, marking the first-ever annual sports competition held on campus.

The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, including Dr. Neelmani Kumar, Dr. Nit Nayana, Dr. Dola Roy, Mr. Krishnendu Pradhan, Mrs. Archana Singh, Mrs. Anuswa Roy, Ms. Shraddha Panda, and many other educators, along with a large number of students.

The opening day featured a variety of sporting events, including the 100-meter sprint, shot put, long jump, and high jump, which garnered energetic participation from students, creating a lively atmosphere.

The competition will continue until December 12, 2024, culminating in a grand closing ceremony. The Annual Sports Festival aims to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students, contributing to their holistic development.

सोना देवी विश्वविद्यालय किताडीह घाटशिला में तीन दिवसीय वार्षिक खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता का उद्घाटन मंगलवार को विश्वविद्यालय के कुलाधिपति प्रभाकर सिंह व कुलसचिव गुलाब सिंह आजाद ने संयुक्त रूप से फीता काटकर किया विश्वविद्यालय परिसर स्थित विशाल खेल के मैदान में पहली बार इस वार्षिक खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन हुआ इस आयोजन में विद्यालय के शिक्षक डॉक्टर नीलमणि कुमार, डॉक्टर नित नयना, डॉक्टर डोला रॉय,श्री कृष्णेन्दु प्रधान , श्रीमती अर्चना सिंह , श्रीमती अनुस्वा राय , सुश्री श्रद्धा पांडा के साथ-साथ काफी संख्या में शिक्षक व विद्यार्थी शामिल हुए इस मौके पर कई प्रकार की स्पर्धाएं आयोजित की गई जिसमें 100 मीटर की दौड़ स्पर्धा शॉट पुट लॉन्ग जंप हाई जंप शामिल थे इस वार्षिक खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता का समापन बुधवार को होगा
