The NSS unit of Sona Devi University, Ghatsila, today collected funds in the Mau Bhandar and Ghatsila market areas to assist the flood victims of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Patatri Mali, the nodal officer of NSS at Sona Devi University, informed that a campaign was conducted to help the disaster-affected people of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
The NSS team visited areas including Ghatsila, Mau Bhandar, Gurudwara Road, Dahi Gora, Ghatsila market, and Ghatsila station road, carrying out a door-to-door campaign to collect donations. For this purpose, the NSS unit was divided into six teams, which were led and guided by an assistant professor of Sona Devi University.
The Chancellor of Sona Devi University, Mr. Prabhakar Singh, appreciated the efforts of the students, saying that he feels proud that these are students of Sona Devi University. He urged the students to always be ready to play the role of responsible citizens. He emphasized that students should have a strong role in nation-building, as this will shape their identity as well as that of Sona Devi University.
NSS nodal officer Patatri Mali stated that the students collected a total of ₹10,049, which will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. This amount will be sent to assist the flood victims.
