World Pharmacists Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy on September 25 at the SDU School of Pharmacy, Sona Devi University. Keeping in mind this year’s theme, “Think Health, Think Pharmacist,” various programs were organized throughout the day.
The event was inaugurated by the Principal of the school, Mr. Sudhanshu Shandilya, who in his inspiring address, emphasized that pharmacists are the guardians of public health. He highlighted that, beyond dispensing medicines, pharmacists play a vital role in spreading public health awareness.
Head of Department, Mr. Rahul Kumar Sahu, shed light on the numerous opportunities in the field of pharmacy and its promising future. Assistant Professors Mr. Kishore Kumar Mahakur, Ms. Harsha Verma, and Ms. Uma Mahato shared their thoughts and motivated students to move forward with hard work, honesty, and a spirit of research.
Laboratory demonstrator Ms. Shafeenaz raised awareness among students about the pharmacist’s crucial role in patient safety.
On this occasion, a poster-making and model competition was also held, where students showcased their creativity on various topics related to pharmacy. They presented attractive posters and models focusing on health and medicine safety.
Additionally, both students and faculty organized a rally to spread health awareness among the local community with the message “Think Health, Think Pharmacist.” During the rally, students highlighted the importance of pharmacists through slogans and banners.
The program concluded with the national anthem. The event proved to be inspiring for the students and helped to highlight the important role of pharmacists in society.
