World Pharmacist Day Celebrated at Sona Devi University with Enthusiasm

  • Chief Guest Shri Dharmendra Singh, Executive Committee Member of Pharmacy Council of India and Member of Jharkhand State Pharmacy Council, emphasized the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare services.

Sona Devi University’s School of Pharmacy celebrated World Pharmacist Day today with great enthusiasm. On this special occasion, several cultural and academic programs were organized, where students showcased their talent and creativity, leaving the audience mesmerized.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a warm welcome to the Chief Guest. This was followed by a thematic cake-cutting ceremony to officially inaugurate the celebration. Students presented a variety of performances including Ganesh Vandana, songs, dances, poetry recitals, and stage plays, which deeply moved the audience.

The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri Dharmendra Singh, Executive Committee Member of the Pharmacy Council of India and Member of the Jharkhand State Pharmacy Council, delivered an inspiring speech. He shed light on the crucial role of pharmacists in healthcare services and urged students to move forward on the path of public service. He also stressed the importance of utilizing the Student Portal and the PCI Online Portal for professional growth and engagement.

The event was graced by Special Guest Shri Ashok Agarwal, President of the Alumni Association of St. Joseph’s Convent High School, Musabani, and Guest of Honour Shri Yogesh Dave, a social worker and trustee of Sona Devi University. Both guests delivered motivational speeches that uplifted the spirits of the students and provided valuable guidance for building a successful future.

The program was jointly presided over by Principal Shri Sudhanshu Sandilya, SDU School of Pharmacy, and Head of Department Shri Rahul Kumar Shaw. The Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Prabhakar Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. J.P. Mishra, and Registrar Prof. Dr. Gulab Singh Azad also addressed the gathering, inspiring students to pursue their goals with dedication and determination.

At the conclusion of the event, students who excelled in various competitions and performances were awarded prizes and certificates for their achievements. The program ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

Such events are essential for highlighting the invaluable contributions of pharmacists to society and for encouraging students to fulfill their duties and responsibilities towards humanity with sincerity and dedication in the future.
